I’m one of the UK technology experts featured in The Perfect Storm, a documentary produced by Dark Matter in association with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. It’s my first documentary as founder of Cronk Advisory.
The film looks at how much UK organisations now rely on a small number of cloud providers, and at the pressures building on technology leaders: rising virtualisation costs, the realities of moving to the cloud, and growing concerns about digital resilience. It covers how we got here, what’s at stake and how to navigate the storm.
The push for people that are challenged with virtualisation costs going up, this suggestion of “people should just go to the cloud” is an interesting one. I would pause for a moment and say “there’s probably a reason some of these workloads haven’t gone to the public cloud.”
