Will be MCing the English Track and again running a workshop on DIST (Digital Impacts Schema and Taxonomy), the Green Web Foundation project, with Hannah Smith, the Green Web Foundation’s Director of Operations, at Green IO Paris 2026 (30 September to 1 October).
This time the title is: Leave no stone unturned: assessing the full impacts of your organisation’s digital tech using DIST
Frugal, sustainable and efficient tech must account for the entire IT supply chain, from manufacturing and operational use to e-waste and end-user outcomes. This means looking beyond carbon to include other environmental impacts, such as water use and biodiversity, to build truly resilient, frugal and fair tech. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore how DIST, an open-source project stewarded by Green Web Foundation, provides accessible, standards-aligned guidance for more comprehensive digital tech reporting. We’ll also explore ways to contribute to the project, whether you’re new to digital sustainability or an experienced practitioner.
