An evening webinar for the BCS Enterprise Architecture Specialist Group on why architects are well placed to lead the move to a sustainable, circular economy.
It traced how operating model contexts are evolving from exploitative to regenerative, set out the circular economy model, and looked at technology as a double-edged sword. Topics included the parts of the tech landscape with the biggest impacts (energy, embodied carbon, e-waste and mining), moving from “carbon aware” to “grid aware” solutions, AI’s implications for sustainability, and making sustainability a first-class concern in architecture principles and strategies. It ended with an invitation to collaborate on the CAF sustainability topic, the Tech Carbon Standard and the BTABoK’s sustainable architecture content.
